Murphy NC 28906 - A growing community with small town charm

For the last month or so, I have not been active online, but now I'm back and I'm looking forward to meeting new people and writing about some of the things that are happening in Murphy this year.

During the spring, I suffer from terrible allergies and go for days when I just don't feel like doing anything at all but sleeping and trying not to be too miserable.

I've noticed in the last couple of days that I'm feeling much better than I have been, and that makes me a happy boy. Maybe it's partly a result of a few days of Blackberry Winter, when the temperature dropped back into the high 30s and low 40s for the last couple of days. I do love cooler temps.

It's hard to accomplish anything when you just can't seem to focus your mind and get anything done.

Over the next few weeks, I intend to be much more active here and hope you are, too.

Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer and soon it will be warm enough to go swimming in our lakes and rivers. It's already warm enough to go hiking, camping, fishing, and just driving around our beautiful area.

What do you enjoy doing in Murphy during the summer?

Act on your dream!

John

I also suffervrom bad allergies. After surgery that didn't do anything for my allergies and sinuses, I know get allergy injections and love what they do for me. I sware by them now.

I hope you can get some relief, have you tried a nedipot or any other nasal irrigation?

I also wanted to comment how disappointed I was to hear that therewill not be a parade in Murphy this year. I was really looking forward to that. I am running in the 5k so that should be challenging and fun though!!

Love the site here

Good morning, Jennifer.

I feel for you. Allergies can get really nasty sometimes. I've never tried allergy injections.

Even though my allergies were worse this year than they normally are, they were only part of the problem. I'm feeling much, much better now

I agree with you about the 4th of July parade being canceled. I was disappointed when I read that, too. This was the first time in over six years that I was going to be able to go watch it. Sigh.

I hope you enjoy running in the 5K. (It doesn't sound like my idea of fun!) (grin)

All the best,

JD
