Good morning, Tonya.

I couldn't find any festivals in Cherokee County for that weekend, but i did find three that may be of interest that are close by. Since you like kayaking, I'll list the one at the Nantahala Outdoor Center first.

These are taken from information presented by The Cherokee Scout newspaper.

October 23-25, 2009

NOCtoberfest, featuring the Tour de Nantahala Road Ride is a fall festival that will keep you entertained with a 5K trail run, special German cuisine featured at the Nantahala Outdoor Center's family of restaurants, pumpkin games, and more. For details, call 800-232-7238.

October 24-25, 2009.

The Mountain Harvest Arts and Craft Sale will be held at the Farmer's Market in Blue Ridge, GA. The event runs from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm on Saturday, and noon until 5:00 pm on Sunday. For details, call the Fannin County Homemakers Council at 706-374-2335.

October 24, 2009.

Crane Creek Vineyards in Young Harris, GA, will host its annual Harvest Festival from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm. There will be hayrides, grape stomping, tours of the winery, and a kiddie tent. Tickets are: adults, $20; ages 13-20, $10; and children under 12, free. Call 706-379-1236 for details.

Hope that helps.
