I had a great time watching the fireworks in Konehete Park last night. It was even more special sharing them with family. It was the first time I've ever had a hard time finding a parking spot in Murphy and I was there over an hour early for the ...

I enjoyed walking along the new section of the River Walk

Yesterday, I got a chance to do something I've been wanting to do for the last few weeks, visit the new section of the River Walk that runs long the eastern edge of Murphy, NC. I've been wanting to do this ever since I saw the new brochure for the River Walk.

I took a few photos and uploaded them to a River Walk photo album.

It's hard to believe such a beautiful trail is available for us and it… Continue

A day spent with friends, a fashion show, and a movie at the Henn Theater

Last Saturday was a very busy and enjoyable day for me.

I spent all morning working on blogs and websites, and then I was out and about for the next eight hours.

The stores at Brothers Landing had their customer appreciation day and I spent a couple of hours there looking at the cars in the auto show, listening to the live band, watching the fashion show at Rumors Clothing, and taking a few snapshots.

There are two things that really caught my attention - the beautiful models in the fashion s… Continue

Marketing Your Business - a new column in the Tri-State (Plus!) Shoppers Guide

A few weeks ago, Cat Rightsell, publisher of the Tri-State (Plus!) Shoppers Guide, invited me to submit a column about "Marketing Your Business" for publication in her print edition.

I'm sure she thought I would drag my heals and miss the deadline, but I didn't!

(grin)

So, my first column will appear in her paper's July 2009 edition.

Thank you for this opportunity, Cat.

With her permission, I posted the article to my blog on… Continue

Back online after a short break

For the last month or so, I have not been active online, but now I'm back and I'm looking forward to meeting new people and writing about some of the things that are happening in Murphy this year.

During the spring, I suffer from terrible allergies and go for days when I just don't feel like doing anything at all but sleeping and trying not to be too miserable.

I've noticed in the last couple of days that I'm feeling much better than I have been, and that makes me a happy boy. Maybe it's partl… Continue

New arts and crafts guide and marketplace

Years ago, I started my online marketing career by selling arts and crafts made by myself and other talented people I know. That's why you see me holding one of my steel roses that never wilt in my photograph. I continue to use that photo because I met so many people online who now immediately recognize it.

Although I no longer am able to continue being an artist blacksmith, I still love original, handmade items and I also know the intricacies of online marketing. That's why this press release… Continue

Hi john! I spoke to you on Sat at REMAX. I was working there. If there is something you could do for me it would be some buyers to purchase real estate to jump start our local economy. What do you think!

Hi John!

Many moons ago, when I was much younger and the internet was much slower, I had a little Mac running OS 9 and switched to OpenTransport, before Grove.Net had instructions on how to setup the dial-up connections for such a thing. I wrote up the setup guide and sent it to you after I had figured out how to make it work.

I don't recall exactly how you had become acquainted with my mother, but I do remember that she knew you. I'm not sure if you're aware, but she passed at the end of March this year quite unexpectedly.

At any rate, I've since upgraded to 3mbps fiber service at home and dabble with PHP, graphics, websites, and pretty much anything networked. I stumbled across MurphyConnections.com while researching existing "Shop Local" and other Murphy-based websites looking to help promote my employers at Xpress Yourself and help the community know what services they offer.

I really like what you've got here, and look forward to using it in the future. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help out.

Cheers!

We are getting to the preliminaries of being residents and working in between.. I know eventually we will have things in order.. I do enjoy this community and think that what you have created here is just awesome..
