What is difference in taking a pic of a pic vs scanning in the old pic? Wouldn't scanning work better? I have NOT tried taking a digital shot of an old photo. What are the particular settings should one make on the digit camera?

Thanks for the reminder about the Perseids meteor shower.
It's just past 2:00 am right now and there's a gentle sprinkle falling outside. I tried to will the clouds away, without success. (grin)
I was going to go outside around 11:30, but a thunderstorm moved in just as I was getting ready.
After all the beautiful, clear nights we've had lately, it's a shame that tonight is cloudy.
I make it a point to watch the Perseids and Leonids whenever I can. I've seen hundreds of shooting stars and a few really spectacular fireballs over the years.
Maybe next time.

I had a great time meeting you for breakfast yesterday. it wasn't until after I left that I realized we had been there so long. I hope I didn't hold you back from anything you needed to do.
I'm happy to learn that we have so much in common and I'm looking forward to visiting you one of these days.
Now that I'm able to get out and about, I'm re-learning that meeting in real life is even better than meeting online.
