Well, not me. It's raining cats and dogs and the wind is blowing 60 miles per hr. It's this nor'easter going thru. A true awful day. But thank the good Lord we have our coffee, tea and hot chocolate and a good book and sofa.

Well John, as you know, men are the bigger talkers. That's a documented known fact ( LOL ). I just want to say Halloween was a hoot. The best costume I saw was the Grim Reaper on stilts. Very unnerving. Now that you mention hot chocolate it sounds t…

Live life to the fullest

I must say that yesterday was such a disturbing day for me with Farrah dying and then the sudden death of Micheal Jackson. It makes you sit up and take notice of how short life really is. I say no matter what live life as if it's your last day on earth and do what makes you happy. It's amazing how fast the years fly by. One day my children were lying on my stomach in a hospital room after being taken from my womb and the next moment they are grown adults with children of their own. Sometimes I t… Continue

Good morning, Carol.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I've been offline the last few days as I worked to complete a project before its deadline. I'm just now seeing your comment.

I'm happy to hear that you made it back home safely and enjoyed your trip.

I'm not familiar with the Great American Burger. Where is that?

That's good news about settling on three houses to choose from. I hope everything works out well for you and Gary and that your move to Murphy will start a great new chapter in your lives.

All the best,

JD

Good evening, Carol.

I've been very busy and I'm just now getting around to telling you that I really enjoyed meeting you and your husband Wednesday morning.

I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast and great conversation. It was a pleasure seeing Murphy through your eyes and hearing about your experiences in Gatlinburg and back where you live.

I hope you find the perfect house for your new home in Murphy and are able to move here as soon as it fits your schedule.

Have a safe trip back home.

All the best,

JD

I was in business for myself as an upscale consignment shop after leaving the "Corporate" world" as VP of marketing. I did alot of fashion shows and I loved it. Most people loved to see my wedding gowns modeled. But I only took in designer items. I also carried home decor'. I took on a partner the last year I was in business so she could buy me out but unfortunately she was killed in a car accident. Her husband was driving drunk. At the end of that year I had a huge "going out of business" sale and closed my shop. People still ask me to open up again. Even though I was only opened 5 days a week I lived there 24/7 and I know you know what that means. Is your business in Murphy? I'm making a visit in september to look at houses so I will have to come visit.

Hi Carol, sorry the delay I had my first annual fashion show on Saturday and have been a bit crazy. We carry anything from casual ROXY clothing to dressy tops you can wear out to dinner or work. We have handbags, wallets, perfumes, scarves, footwear, and BIAGI Italian Bead Bracelets which are the new wave in charm bracelets. Thanks Carol just let me know if you have any other questions.

Good evening, Carol.

For the last several years, i was not able to get out of the house as I cared for my Mom full-time. I'm just now starting to get back out doing things and meeting people, again.

I do have four pics I made of downtown Murphy a few years ago and they are on my profile. You can see them, also, at:

Over the next few months I plan to post more.

We have a local photography group here on the site and I hope some of our better photographers will be posting more photos.

Dena Howard posted four photos in her blog post:

I'm really hoping we'll get more photographers involved in this community so we can show off what a beautiful area we live in.

Murphy does have a historical museum, but I'm not sure about the others.

Maybe we can get more of the local leaders online here who will be better able to answer these types of questions. I'm working on it.

(grin)

All the best,

JD

Good morning, Carol.

Yes, when you visit in September, let me know and we can meet somewhere for coffee or lunch or something. I'm looking forward to meeting you.

I can appreciate not having a mortgage. I've been debt-free for over 15 years and never want to go back.

Good luck on selling your property and cabin in Gatlinburg.

Act on your dream!
