I know what you mean about weeding. It sounds like y'all did well for the first year. Good luck on that fall planting.

Comment by G. Ron Langer on August 14, 2009 at 4:48pm - T-o-o-o busy! The weeding gets to be a real chore. Our squash was very prolific! It was coming out our ears! Tomatoes were Ok but not great. Corn was about a 7 on a 1-10 scale. Since we're organic we had our share of bugs. Perhaps next year we will do better. Btw, we are doing a fall planting so we'll see how that turns out.

Good morning, Ron.
I don't have any advice. I started this group because I knew lots of people in the area enjoy gardening.
Mom and Dad both had green thumbs. They could plant just about anything and get it to grow. I didn't inherit that talent.
I do have lots of experience in taking orders and weeding, however. (grin)
Maybe someone will join in here and share their knowledge. Perhaps Cyndie, Sam, and/or Kimberly would like to offer their thoughts, here.
I think a community garden is a great idea.

- We (Cyndie & Ron, Sam & Debbie, Art & Kimberly) have a community garden along the river. This is our 1st year. Garden is 100x65 and on Art's property. We are trying to be organic farmers. The experts are Cyndie, Sam and Kimberly. The rest of us take orders and weed. lol So far, stuff is growing. Any advice will be appreciated.
